At least one rate must be mapped in Sirvoy for each channel room type on that channel’s mapping page. This is usually your “standard rate,” which appears first on the list.

Each room type can have multiple rates, and you can choose to map just one, some, or all. How you set this up affects how much control you’ll have in Sirvoy.

Option 1: One mapped rate, and other rates are derived from it

For example, if you have a “Double room” in Sirvoy with three channel rates: standard, non-refundable, and breakfast included, you would only map the standard channel rate to the “Double room” in Sirvoy.

The other two rates, non-refundable and breakfast included, are left unmapped but inherit their settings from the standard rate.

What this setup gives you:

• Simpler management: Only one room type to manage in Sirvoy.
• Channel-handled rate behavior: The unmapped rates follow the standard rate’s availability and restrictions. You manage their pricing and adjustments on the channel, not in Sirvoy.
• Fewer Sirvoy room types: No need to duplicate room types in Sirvoy for each rate.

What to watch out for:

• Less control in Sirvoy: You can only directly manage pricing, availability, or restrictions for the standard rate in Sirvoy, not the unmapped rates.
• Bookings appear under the mapped room type: When a guest books an unmapped rate, Sirvoy shows it as a booking for the mapped rate. The correct rate is used, but the unmapped rate name won’t appear.
• Rates may remain open unintentionally: Unmapped rates could still be bookable on the channel if they don’t explicitly inherit closed availability or restrictions from the mapped rate.

This option works well if you have many channel rates, but want to keep things simple in Sirvoy.

Option 2: Map all channel rates to separate room types

For example, if you have a “Double room” in Sirvoy with three channel rates: standard, non-refundable, and breakfast included, you would create two duplicates of “Double room”, like “Double room - Non-refundable” and “Double room - Breakfast included”. Then map each room type to its matching channel rate.

What this setup gives you:

• Full control in Sirvoy: You can independently manage price, availability, and restrictions for each rate/room type.
• Clearer booking details: The exact rate/room type reserved is shown in all bookings.
• Flexible availability: You can close or adjust any rate/room type individually, without affecting others.

What to watch out for:

• More setup and upkeep: You’ll need to create and maintain multiple room types in Sirvoy.
• Consistency required: Changes to settings must be manually applied to each related room type.

This option is best if you only offer a few rates per room type and want precise control in Sirvoy.
