Send guests to pre-filled booking engines
How to send guests to your booking engine with pre-filled dates, room types, and more.

Sometimes you might want to make it easier for guests by sending them to a booking engine with check-in dates, number of guests, room type, and more already filled in.
It’s perfect for things like:
- A Book Now button next to a specific room on your website.
- Sharing special offers in newsletters.
- Preloading booking details for guests attending an event.
These pre-filled details are just defaults—guests can still update them after arriving on the booking engine.
What details can be pre-filled?
You can customize the booking experience by pre-filling these fields:
- Check-in and check-out dates.
- Starting page – either the Search page, where guests enter their stay dates, or the Results page, which shows room availability for pre-filled dates.
- Number of guests.
- Coupon code.
- Room type, or a specific room if Room choice is enabled.
Note:
- To enable Room choice, go to Settings > Booking engines, click the three dots on the same row as the booking engine you’re prefilling, then click Edit.
- Room category, if you’ve grouped your room types into categories.
- Language, based on browser or manually set.
Create a booking engine with pre-filled details
Once you’ve decided what to pre-fill, here’s how to set it up:
- Go to Settings > Booking engines
- Click the three dots on the same row as the booking engine you want to use
- Select Install
- Open the Advanced settings
- Fill in the fields, like the default room type, number of guests, coupon code, and more
- Install the booking engine on your website or send it as a direct link, as usual
Want lots of pre-filled booking engines?
You can create as many versions of your booking engine as you like, each with different pre-filled booking details.
Just repeat the steps above to adjust the settings each time.
