Understand channel availability restrictions
Learn about how booking channels handle stay restrictions, stay length rules, and advance booking limits from Sirvoy.
Table of Contents
Not all booking channels support the same types of restrictions. Here’s how your settings in Sirvoy affect availability and stay rules across various channels.
Stay restrictions
Most channels support stay restrictions for check-in, check-out, and minimum/maximum stay, but there are a few exceptions:
- Hostelworld and Calendar (iCal) channels do not support check-in or check-out restrictions. To fully block availability on those channels, use Block check-ins & stays when creating a new stay restriction.
- Restrictions applied to a specific room type only affect that room type. If other room types are a duplicate of the original, they won’t automatically share the same restrictions.
- If the booking channel uses derived rates, contact the channel to confirm whether those rates inherit restrictions from the parent rate.
Stay length adjustments
When creating a stay length adjustment, the Stay length increment setting controls how many nights long a reservation must be. It includes three options:
- Any number of nights
- Full weeks
- 3–4 nights or full weeks
Most booking channels support Any number of nights, but do not support Full weeks or 3–4 nights or full weeks. If a channel doesn’t support the setting you need, contact that channel’s account manager to configure it directly in their system.
Booking window restrictions
You can control how far in advance guests can book, and how close to check-in bookings are allowed, but where you manage this depends on the channel:
- For Airbnb and Booking.com, these settings can be managed directly on their connection pages in Sirvoy under Settings > Channels.
- Minimum advance reservation – how close to check-in guests can book.
- Maximum advance reservation – how far in advance guests can book (up to 360 days).
- For all other channels, these restrictions must be set manually in your account for that channel, not in Sirvoy.
Blocking individual rooms
Rooms that are blocked in Sirvoy are excluded from the availability sent to all booking channels, just like already-booked rooms.
This works consistently across all connected channels.
