How to create extras How to create mandatory extras Extra settings explained

Extras let you offer additional services or products—like meals, conference rooms, or rentals—through your booking engine.

Extras can’t be sold individually through booking channels, but you can bundle them with rooms by creating package deals. Extras can be optional or mandatory, depending on your setup.


How to create extras

  1. Go to Settings > Extras and click Add New.
  2. Enter a name and description for each language you support.
  3. Upload images. Images must be:
    • PNG, GIF, JPG, or JPEG formats.
    • Less than 10MB
    • At least 1000 x 300 px for best quality.
  4. Set a fixed price.
  5. Select applicable taxes and mark whether the extra is exempt from any surcharges.
  6. (Optional) Set a Sort Order to control where this extra appears in lists, including on your booking engines. Otherwise, leave this set to Auto.
  7. Adjust Max per booking, Choice range, and Default quantity as needed.
  8. Click Save.

Example:

You might create a “Breakfast” extra with the following settings:

  • Max per booking: Ten (10)
  • Default quantity: Zero (0)
  • Choice range: Between 0 - max quantity

This means guests won’t have any breakfasts selected by default, but they can choose up to 10 during the booking process.

 

How to create mandatory extras

To make an extra automatically added to all bookings made from the front desk or your booking engine (but not from connected channels):

  1. Go to Settings > Extras, then either click Edit on an existing extra or click Add New.
  2. Under Choice range, select Always included.
  3. Click Save.

Extra settings explained

  • Internal extras: Only visible and bookable by users in your Sirvoy account. Useful for staff-only services or extras not meant for public bookings.
  • Max per booking: The maximum quantity a single booking can include.
  • Limited number:The total number available per day, across all bookings. Availability is tracked on the calendar.
  • Limited-time offer: Makes the extra available only during a specific date range. Perfect for seasonal services or promotions.
