Customize default booking fields
How to control which input fields are shown, required, or hidden when guests or your team make a booking.
Table of Contents
A field in the booking engine is any piece of information you can collect during the booking process—like email, phone number, or arrival time. You can choose which fields are used on your booking engine and whether guests need to fill them out.
Go to Settings > Booking engines > Default fields and use the dropdown next to each field to set it as:
- Required – the field must be filled out
- Optional – the field can be left blank
- Do not display – the field won’t be used
- Internal field – the field is only shown when your team makes bookings manually
Not every field supports all options. The dropdown will show what’s available for each one.
What each field means
- Address – guest’s street address
- Email – guest’s email address
- Passport No. – guest’s passport number
- Additional comments – open text field guests can use to say anything
- Purpose of stay – reason for travel, such as business or leisure
- Phone number – guest’s phone number
- Default country – front desk only – sets the pre-filled country when your team makes bookings manually. Country selection is always required; this only changes the default.
- Invoice reference – a reference added by the guest that appears on invoices or cash receipts connected to their booking
- Estimated time of arrival – the guest’s expected arrival time
- Earliest at – sets the earliest arrival time guests can choose
- Latest at – sets the latest arrival time guests can choose
