Receive credit card details from booking channels
How to receive and manage credit card details from booking channels using Stripe or Sirvoy Vault.
Table of Contents
When you get bookings through channels like Booking.com or Expedia, they may include credit card details, either the guest’s card or a Virtual Credit Card (VCC) issued by the channel. These details aren’t always visible in your channel account.
To securely view and charge cards, we recommend using one or both of the following tools:
Stripe
Stripe is Sirvoy’s recommended payment solution. If the channel includes a CVV/CVC code, the card details will be stored in Stripe automatically. You can then charge the card directly from the booking in Sirvoy.
Keep in mind:
- Stripe runs a strict security check, so cards may be declined even if the channel accepted them.
- A message in the booking will alert you if a card needs to be updated.
- If Stripe can’t validate and store the VCC, request a new card from the booking channel.
- If Stripe declines a card, the details aren’t saved or accessible—so having Sirvoy Vault as a backup ensures you don’t lose them.
Sirvoy Vault
Sirvoy Vault securely stores all credit card details received from booking channels, both guest cards and virtual cards.
With Sirvoy Vault:
- All card details sent by the channel are saved as-is.
- You can view the details securely from the booking whenever needed.
- Cards can be sent to Stripe or another payment provider for charging.
Using Sirvoy Vault alongside Stripe gives you a fallback in case Stripe can’t store or accept a card.
