What is a booking channel?
Learn about booking channels (or OTAs) and Sirvoy’s channel manager features.
Table of Contents
A booking channel is an online platform where guests can make reservations for your property, like Booking.com, Expedia, or Airbnb. These are sometimes called OTAs (online travel agencies) or sales channels.
Sirvoy connects to these channels so that you can manage all your bookings and availability from one place.
How booking channels work with Sirvoy
Sirvoy acts as a channel manager, syncing your property’s availability and pricing with each connected channel in real time. This two-way connection means:
- When a guest books through a channel like Booking.com, that booking is immediately added to Sirvoy — and those dates and rooms are marked as unavailable on all other booking channels you've connected with, like Airbnb or Expedia, so no one can book them again by mistake.
- When you take a direct booking — through your website, at the front desk, or over the phone — Sirvoy updates all connected channels right away to reflect what’s still available.
- When you change your rates or open or close dates in Sirvoy, those changes are automatically sent to all your booking channels — no need to update each one manually.
This automation helps prevent overbookings and saves you time by making sure every channel stays up to date.
Pricing and multi-property setup
Sirvoy automatically sends price updates — including seasonal rates and price lists — to all connected booking channels. Most channels don’t support discounts for longer stays, so you may need to apply those directly on the channel.
Each Sirvoy account can connect to one property per channel. If you manage multiple properties with different addresses, you’ll need a separate Sirvoy account for each. Contact support@sirvoy.com to ask about multi-account discounts.
